GYM TO CASUAL STYLE

Hey y'all!

With New Year's Resolutions still on our minds (hopefully you are still sticking to yours!) I wanted to share some helpful tips for transitioning your wardrobe between gym looks and casual, presentable-in-public looks. I know for me, sometimes its hard to squeeze in a workout, and it often means that you are left heading to class, the grocery store, or other public places in the remains of your workout clothes! Here's how I transition my wardrobe if I need to make a public appearance post-sweat sesh.

First, I am a firm believer in dry shampoo. Even though it disgusts my mother (sorry mom if you're reading this!) it is actually better for your hair to not wash it every single day. Now after you sweat a ton would probably be a good time to hop in the shower, but when I'm in a pinch, dry shampoo does the trick. I also use baby powder, which for blonde gals works just as well!

Next I am a huge believer in body sprays. I always keep a body spray or travel perfume in my gym bag if I hit the gym, or I just be sure to use it after I come home from a run to freshen up.

As far as clothes go, I kept on my cute leggings because I think they are easy to work into an athleisure look. These mesh paneled leggings are an obsession of mine right now! I love how edgy they are without being too much/over the top. They look way more expensive than they were, which is definitely a bonus in my book.

I switched out my running shoes for some cute sneakers because lets be real...neon running shoes aren't what I would consider fashion forward ;) I love these Nikes, they are so stinkin' cute! Of course I love the color -- if you haven't noticed, army green is an obsession of mine. Not to mention the snakeskin detailing...they are to die for! They serve their purpose for working out but that's about it. I also traded in my grey running top for a grey chunky turtleneck. Not that the top isn't cute -- but I was going for a more fashionable look!

Lastly, I like to put my hair in a low bun and pull a few face framing pieces out when I am recovering post-gym (I didn't show this part in the photos bc I had my hair/makeup done but you get the idea!) It is a great way to get your hair out of your face and look sleek...plus it just looks more put together in case your hair tends to go wild at the gym like mine does!

There ya have it -- my tips on making gym clothes more fashionable! I hope you all enjoyed -- if you want more work out related posts be sure to let me know as I am on a major work out kick!

  1. Very useful information on stylish gym clothes and hope this will help me in finding right workout gear for me and my sister. Searched online and got to know about few stores as well as websites where I can find quality gear and thinking to order few pairs soon.
