2018 GOALS

Hey y'all!

Today I wanted to share my goals for 2018 -- I am not a huge resolution person because who actually follows through with those...but I do love making goals and plans and I thought that would make for a great post to reflect on as I go through the year. I also wanted to share the top 5 blog posts I shared in 2017 to reflect on my work!

First off, I thought I would share the big changes that are coming in 2018. I will be graduating college, getting married, moving into my first 'solo' place with Nate in a new town, and starting my first real job, all in a matter of a month. I think this year is going to be a year of change! While I am nervous, I am also tremendously excited. I have been thinking about this season of life for a long time and I am so excited that its almost here!

With all these changes comes a lot of preparation and planning, including wedding planning, house/apartment hunting, and of course finishing out my last semester of school. One of my big goals is to enjoy the process, not just the destination. While I am preparing for a lot of these big changes, I want to continue to try and live in the moment and enjoy all the things that come with wedding planning, ending my time at K-State and my last few months with some of my friends.

With all this change, I want to continue to focus on the one thing in life that is constant. I want to focus and strive to live my life daily for Christ, and to focus on what it means to live in the way that Christ does. I want to be better about spending time each day in prayer and focus even more on living my life for Christ.  I also want to be more open and share more about my faith and what I am learning with others in my life, including on social media/on my blog.

I also want to continue to live a healthy lifestyle, focusing on healthy eating, working out routinely, and listening to my body. In 2018 I hope to run another half marathon, and after the wedding I would love to begin training for a full marathon. I want to be better this semester about cooking recipes and full meals, not just relying on a random mix of things for meals. Cooking for one can be hard but I want to enjoy it while I can before I get married!

For blogging, I have a few goals I would love to strive towards. First, I want to continue to share content that I love and am proud of, in all aspects and topics. I want to share posts on healthy living, fitness, style, faith, home and anything else that comes to mind! I for sure want to share three posts per week, and while that is less than I shared for most 2017, I want to make sure the posts are really exceptional quality, and not just a filler post to have something up. I want to step up my photography and make sure that all the photos are really high quality and well-edited. Lastly, I want to continue to expand the social platforms I use and utilize YouTube, Twitter, and the new features with LiketoKnowit to expand my blog and following. I would love to share several YouTube videos per month, including vlogs and lifestyle videos. I want to up the content I share on Instagram, including posting more on stories!

A few bigger goals that are a little far-off but still things I would like to reach in 2018 related to blogging:
1. Attending New York Fashion Week (a huuuge dream of mine!)
2. Going on a sponsored trip to promote a company.
3. Having consistent sponsored posts each month/working with companies that align with my values and relate to my blog.
4. Reaching 5K followers on Instagram as a result of more consistent and intentional content.  Numbers don't really mean anything, and I am more focused on the reach and engagement, but I would still love to reach that goal.
5. Collaborate more -- I would love to work with other bloggers, promote them, and be an encouragement to the community. Building others up and sharing success is something that is sometimes lacking in the blogging world!

If you have any specific content you would like to see on the blog, be sure to let me know as I would love to share what y'all are interested in reading, seeing and what would benefit y'all the most!

Thank you so much for reading and talk to y'all in my next post!

"Do not love this world or the things it offers you, for when you love the world, you do not have the love of the Father in you. For the world offers only a craving for physical pleasure, a craving for everything we see, and pride in our achievements and possessions. These are not from the Father, but are from this world." 1 John 2:15-16
