Hey y'all!
So recently, I have discovered that I really enjoy reading! I did a ton of reading over Christmas break, which I realize was a while ago, but I realized then I forgot how much I enjoyed it. One of my favorite things to do is to spend a lazy, laid-back day going to the library and looking for new books, and then spending hours reading them! Once school started back up, I am of course a ton busier, but I do try and read a bit every now and then to relax/unwind. I wanted to share a few of the books I have read lately and tell you which ones I recommend!
1. The Girl on the Train by Paula Hawkins.
This one was probably my quickest read. I think I finished it at a weekend at my cousins' cabin/the road trip home. It was really good, and very suspenseful. It was a great read for those of you who like books that aren't super thought-provoking. It is a little intense and graphic so if you are bothered by that you might not enjoy it. But it was super good in my opinion! I am sure you've heard about this one before; it is a thriller/murder/suspense book, which follows multiple characters and how their lives intertwine. I love books that are like that, especially when different chapters are from different perspectives.
2. Firefly Lane by Kristin Hannah.
This one was probably the best fiction book I have read in awhile. It was so funny and even though it is a really long book, I finished it really fast! It was very captivating and made me want to keep reading the whole time. I will say, I cried a lot in the end but it was worth it! I have a few others by this author on my list to read in the future because she is a great writer. This book follows two girls who are friends as teenagers and then it tracks their interactions throughout their lives. I love books written from multiple perspectives like I mentioned earlier, so it was easily a favorite of mine.
3. The Magnolia Story by Chip & Joanna Gaines.
Of course this book is a major favorite! I love Chip & Jo and all things Magnolia. I am sure you've heard a million times by now, but I am FINALLY going to visit Magnolia over spring break and I cannot wait! I had to read their book of course before I went. This one had been on my list for quite awhile, so it was great to finally read it! I love them and their story, and it was such a great read. I honestly got chills reading this book so many times. Their story is one to admire -- their strength, determination, and most importantly, their faith. It is so cool to see people go from humble beginnings to success in an intentional and purposeful way. They trusted the Lord with their dreams and He came through in so many unexpected and bigger ways. I definitely recommend it!
