#FASHIONTIPS SERIES -- SUMMER TREND: STRAW BAGS

Hey y'all!

For today's post, I wanted to post another installment of my #FashionTips series where I take a piece or a trend and break it down for y'all, and then explain how I would style it! One huge trend that I have seen lately is straw/woven bags. I feel like this trend is something that is often big in the summertime, but I think its bigger than ever this season! I found a ton of affordable ones (as well as some dang cute splurge pieces if you are into that!) and I linked them in the widget below the photos.

I opted for the more woven look rather than the full on straw bag because I thought the one I picked out would be more practical for an everyday use, whereas the straw bag might look silly if I showed up to the coporate office of my internship with (not that I wouldn't want to...I'm just trying to think practically!) But I think if I wore this bag with a white wrap dress and wedges, no one would think twice! So this bag is perfect for the beach/pool, but I think you can easily make it appropriate for your everyday wardrobe. I also love the raffia pom poms which add an extra summery vibe!

As for the outfit, I wanted to incorporate a fun and summery look to compliment the straw bag! I paired this tropical tank with some classic cutoff shorts. I love this printed tank -- its swingy, light, and the print is so fun and unique with birds and flowers all over! I love how easy it is to pair with different bright jewelry for a different look each time. Plus, the top is under $26! These shorts are a go-to of mine as well and are under $46. Lastly, I wore some espadrille flatform sandals to complete the beachy, summer look!

What do y'all think of this trend? Leave a comment down below!

"Don't you realize that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit, who lives in you and was given to you by God? You do not belong to yourself, for God bought you with a high price. So you must honor God with your body." 1 Corinthians 6:19-20
