2017 Goals

Hey y'all!

So this post is my first post to write for the New Year, and I am so excited for all that 2017 has in store! I wanted to start off the year sharing my personal and blogging goals for the year. I have been traveling and am finally back into a routine, so I apologize for the delay in getting this post up!

I am not a big "New Years Resolutions" gal, simply because they rarely ever get followed. I do however like making attainable goals, and I think that's why resolutions never happen because its hard to measure "getting in shape" or things like that. So, here are the goals that I have set for myself that are easier to measure/monitor throughout the year.

Health Goals.
Health is something that is really interesting to me, and really important as well. I have a few goals that I want to focus on, and a few ways to improve my health for the year.

1. Run another half marathon. Last spring, I ran my first half marathon, and it was so much fun. Through training for that race, I really caught the running bug, and it has stuck with me ever since! I would love to run another, and I have plans to run in the same race that I did last spring. This time around, I would love to improve my time, and get under 1 hour and 50 minutes (I ran it in 1 hour and 59 minutes last year).

2. Get more into cooking. I really love baking and cooking, but sometimes I just get lazy and fix something easy like eggs or baked sweet potatoes for dinner. I want to expand my cooking to trying new meals and learning how to cook different dishes. Maybe I can even get into making cooking blog posts as well!

Faith Goals.
My faith is something that is super important to me, and I want to use my blog/this space as a way to share that facet of my life. I also have come up with a few ways that I want to push myself in my faith!

1. Be more diligent about spending time in the Word and with God each day. This is obviously always a goal that I have for myself, but one that I want to continue with each new year! I want to do my best to start each day with my devotional and to spend time in prayer.

2. Share more on my blog about my faith and encourage others in their walk. In each blog post, I try to share a Bible verse that I find meaningful/inspirational. However, I would love to get back to sharing more in depth about my faith and different things I am learning in my walk with Christ both on my blog and on my Instagram. If you have any suggestions or requests, you should leave them down below!

Blog Goals.
Obviously this blog is something that I am so passionate about, and I love spending time creating and dreaming up ideas to make it even better. Here are a few ways that I want to improve my blog in 2017.

1. Be more focused and intentional about the content I share. I want to do a better job researching trends, planning content, and sharing helpful information with y'all this year -- and stick to my editorial calendar more strictly. By doing so, I will have a wider range of content and more creative and interesting posts for y'all!

2. Post 5 posts per week. This is something that I really focused on in the second half of 2016, and it is something that I want to continue for 2017. I want to have each of the posts per week be focused and intentional like I mentioned above!

3. Grow my YouTube channel. Each year I say I want to do this -- but this year, I want to focus on filming vlog style videos to document my life right now. I am in no way an exceptional videographer, but I have filmed some vlogs in 2016 and I want to continue doing that. It is a fun way to remember all the little things and look back on what you accomplish throughout the year. I would love to see myself post one per week, or about five per month.

Personal Goals.
Aside from health, faith, and blog goals, I have some miscellaneous goals that I want to try to accomplish in 2017. Here is what I have come up with!

1. Read at least one book per month. Over break, I have really gotten back into reading, and I want to keep that spark going and try to finish one book a month. I would love to hear your suggestions, and hopefully I can do some posts on my favorite ones/my suggestions!

2. "Get out" more. I can tend to stay at home and be a homebody, but this year I want to try to do more in my free time! I have started a bucket list of different things I want to try for fun in 2017.

Thank you all for reading and supporting my blog, it means a lot to me! Can't wait to see what 2017 brings!
