WHAT I'M PACKING: WEEKEND IN NEW MEXICO

Hey y'all!

Hope you are having a great day and Happy Friday Jr.! I heard someone call Friday that last week and I love it. I always look forward to Friday's ;)

Today I am headed to New Mexico with Nate for a short little weekend trip. Nate is from Albuquerque and every year we said we wanted to go back for the Balloon Fiesta. We just decided that this year was the last year we had the flexibility of college life to just road trip for the weekend. It's a long drive but I have always wanted to see the balloons this time of year!

I wanted to share what I was planning on packing for our trip -- even though it is pretty short. Many of the items are new fall pieces and I wanted to share the links with y'all to shop them :) I have been trying to cut back on shopping and only buy the best of the best...so I thought this post might be helpful if you are looking for the must-have pieces for fall! Be sure to check back as I will probably shoot several looks while we are traveling which will be on the blog in the weeks to come!

Top 5 Pieces I'm Packing:
1. Rose gold velvet bomber. I am obsessed with this little bomber jacket and have been dying to wear it! Its still a bit warm for tons of layers but I think I might just go for it anyways. Its also under $30 and I can think of so many cute ways to wear this thing!
2. Stripe tee -- restocked + updated version here! This is probably my favorite tee of all time, and this year they restocked it in a new (I think better) fit and also more colors. I think  I might have to order the new version as well!
3. Conductor hat/baker boy hat. This is a trend I have been loving lately, and I actually bought one of these hats a few seasons ago thinking they were cute, but I ended up chickening out and not wearing them. I should have because now they are all the rage! I love them with sweaters, dresses, and cropped denim + tall booties. They are very chic and make a cute statement for fall!
4. My favorite plaid blouse. I don't really think these are considered flannels but they are the softest, most comfy piece I have purchased this fall. I bought them in three colors -- purple, black, and orange! I am seriously obsessed. They are also under $20 and can go with so much stuff throughout the fall/winter. Definitely worth the $$!
5. Statement jeans. I recently have gotten into statement denim, and I can't decide between this pearl trimmed pair, this new pair of cropped flares, and this tuxedo trim pair! I haven't always been a jeans person, but I have been trying to branch out lately! All of these pairs mentioned are super affordable (under $50!) so you can't go wrong with any of them if you're looking to spice up your wardrobe this season!

Other travel essentials:
1. Leather backpack. I love this little backpack for traveling, it's so convenient and still cute! Its pretty small, but perfect if you're a light packer/just going on a really small trip ;) If only I was a light packer! ha.
2. Sweatshirt dress. This dress is my absolute favorite. I purchased it during the NSale, but even at full price I think it would be completely worth it. The sleeve detail on simple pieces like this is a major trend this season. I love the added statement/puff detailing :) Every time I wear it, people ask where my pants are...but I promise it's meant to be a dress! So cozy & comfy & perfect for travel. I linked several similar pieces in the widget below if you want to shop the look!
3. Comfy sneakers. This is kind of a given for travel! I love to wear sneakers because they are
4. Cozy PJ's. I am a huge sucker for PJ sets but I always pack a cozy pair so that I can cuddle up and sleep well wherever I go! I often have sleeping problems so making sure that my routine is as normal as possible is a must for me!
5. Cute glasses. When I travel I always want to wear my glasses because they make it easier to take naps ;) I love this clear acrylic pair -- I didn't know if I would like them but I love them so much. I wear them several times a week at least!

Do you have any big plans for the weekend? I love traveling and seeing new things so I can't wait! I have been to NM before but the Balloon Fiesta will be an all new experience for me :) Plus I have family and tons of Nate's friends to see so its going to be a great weekend.

Thanks for reading y'all & talk to you in my next post.
