WEEKEND IN MY LIFE: CITY MARKET, FAMILY HANGS + SHRIMP TACOS

Hey y'all!

I had the best couple days this past weekend and I wanted to share some of my favorite photos that I took this weekend. My mom and sister came to visit and we went to the River Market in Kansas City, had brunch, shopped til we dropped, went to Trader Joe's, and had my favorite shrimp tacos on my aunt and uncles back patio. It was the dreamiest weekend filled with some of my favorite people and I couldn't be happier.

My favorite thing about the River Market was this little spot where you could go and get spices in bulk. They had tons of unique blends like "Bomb Diggity" and "KC Yum" and it was just really cool. I can't wait to cook with them and test them out!

There are also the most beautiful flower stands and I love getting these massive bouquets. Flowers make me so happy and y'all just look at those blooms!

Next we went to a really yummy brunch spot called the Homesteader Cafe. If you're in the KC area, you have to try it! I had egg white scramble with toast and roasted potatoes. It was so filling and delicious. They also had bomb cinnamon rolls which we shared. My sister had pancakes which were really good, Nate had chicken and waffles, and my mom had a sweet potato hash. All good stuff!

Then we went to Trader Joes which is just heaven to me. I love shopping there and testing out yummy new things! We walked up and down all the aisles and tried all the samples. :)

Then we went over to my aunt and uncles house for dinner. They have the dreamiest backyard and we sat outside, ate, talked, and played games until way late. It was so fun! I fixed my favorite shrimp taco recipe that my aunt, uncle, cousins and I discovered we loved when I lived with them last summer. It is super easy and fresh and perfect for summer. I thought I would share with y'all!

Ingredients
2 Packages Brocoli Slaw
3 Mangoes
1 small onion
1 cup cilantro
2 limes, juiced
1 TBSP sirracha
1 small container plain greek yogurt
Small tortillas
1 pound shrimp

Dice your mango, chop your onion and put in a serving bowl with your brocoli slaw.
Chop your cilantro off the plant, and blend in a food processor with yogurt, sirracha, and lime juice, and blend until combined. Pour the dressing over your slaw mixture. I toss the shrimp in a chile lime seasoning from Trader Joes, and then grill them. Serve all together -- its super easy and yummy! You can eat the slaw in the tacos, or you can just eat it like a salad which is what I do.

All in all, it was a a great weekend! I was so happy to see my family and I truly had the best couple days! Hope y'all did too and are ready for another week!
