STAYING MOTIVATED TO REACH FITNESS GOALS

Hey y'all!

I wanted to focus a bit more on lifestyle, healthy eating/cooking, and fitness on my blog because those are things that I enjoy learning and talking about, as well as value in my life. Today I wanted to share some tips on how I stay motivated to work out and stay active, as well as fuel my body with a healthy diet!

Tip #1: Do your research.
The more research I did, the more I realized how important it is to eat a balanced diet and work out! The way I see it, your body is like a machine, and if you put good things into it, you will get good results. Eating cheeseburgers and chicken strips are good, but it isn't the best way to fuel your body on a consistent basis. When I had a better understanding of how foods interact with my body, it was more motivating to eat better and stay active.

Tip #2: Make a plan.
For me, my fitness goals are generally pertaining to training for races, such as a half marathon or just increasing my running endurance, which is my current goal. Figure out where you want to end up, and then make small steps to achieve that goal. Starting a plan and making sure you have steps that are easy to accomplish will help you get to your goals in no time! I usually will either devise a plan myself, or search Pinterest for workout plans!

Tip #3: Get a workout buddy.
I find that if I have someone who is counting on me to be up early to go to the gym or someone who is training along side me for a race, I am way more motivated, and I will not only let them down but also myself if I sleep in or skip a training. Find a friend to keep you motivated -- its the best tip I have!

Tip #4: Treat yo' self.
Make sure that you are treating yourself and not depriving yourself in your journey to reach whatever fitness goals you have in mind. Go out for ice cream, eat a burger, or take days off, whatever "treats" look like to you. Everything is okay in moderation, just remember that!

Tip #5: Leave yourself motivation messages.
This one is kind of cheesy, but sometimes I will set my phone background or write down motivating quotes to leave in my bathroom mirror or on my desk. When you wake up and see that motivation, it will help remind you of your goals and where you want to be or what you want to accomplish.

I hope these tips were helpful to you! Do you have any other methods of staying motivated? Leave a comment down below!
