Happy Wednesday. Hope you're having a great day! Something about back to school season puts me instantly into a fall mood -- I am ready for cozy sweaters and PSL's (judge me... ;)) But I figured since I would basically roast if I even thought about wearing a sweater outside right now, I would instead write a post about my favorite upcoming fall trends and give y'all some tips on what you'll want to stock up on and rock this fall! Keep reading for all the details and some of my top picks you can shop!
Athleisure/sneakers.
This is a trend that is going to continue to stick around for awhile, according to all the style reports and articles I have read! However, there are a few key differences in the hottest sneakers this fall than the ones we've been seeing lately. Think slip on, knitted materials for the it-sneakers to have this fall! However, I think your court shoes and sporty runners are still in so don't fear! Stylish slip ons are also still big so keep those things around, too!
Cutout booties.
This is a major trend I have been noticing and one that you'll definitely want to be a part of! Check out booties with laser cut detailing on the sides -- making them an extra statement for the fall. This is the new take on the classic ankle bootie that we've been wearing the past few seasons!
Embroidery/Brocade detailing.
This is another simple touch to spruce up an outfit -- and an easy touch to add into your wardrobe! Embroidery is still big -- this fall, try it on a classic crisp button down or as an added bit of style to a utility jacket. Brocade and embroidery are also all over the hottest shoe styles, including flats, mules, booties, and more!
New Trends in Denim.
This fall, we are flooded with new silhouettes in denim! The skinny jean we've known and loved for years is being overshadowed by the flare jean once again! My personal favorite is an ankle cropped flare -- they are less overwhelming especially to more petite gals like me! 'Mom' jeans, or higher waisted, looser fitting jeans are also a trend to try out!

The Steve Madden "Slinky".
Okay y'all I had to throw this one in for all my 90s gals out there! I was realizing the other day that I am now old enough to have lived trends more than once...and this sandal is the perfect example! I am both shocked and amused because these things were the epitome of 90s fashion but I can't help but love them still! I was reading all kinds of articles about how Steve Madden was releasing this style again that they were famous for in the 90s...and it's not even an inspiration from their original design, its the exact shoe that we wore as kids! Fringe.
One of my favorite trends from last year is one we will be seeing again! Try some fringe on the end of your dresses, jackets, and more this season! Take it a step further and incorporate a shimery fringe to your frocks this fall. My personal fav? My suede fringe jacket I wore like crazy last fall and you better believe I'll wear it all the time again!
Dark Florals.
I'm not really sure that florals ever are actually not a popular print, but this fall we are seeing them all over the runway, but instead in dark/rich hues. Try plums, emeralds, and other jewel tones to incorporate this popular print into your fall wardrobe!
Tartan/Plaid.
As a total prep at heart, I of course love plaid and this season we actually saw it consistently on the runway as a big trend for fall. Whether that be in a skirt, dress, or button down, this trend is a new take on a classic look, which I am all about!
Hottest Colors for Fall 2017.
The last trend I thought I would highlight is the biggest colors for the fall -- I saw two that really stuck out to me. The first being burgundy -- but no real shock there. This deep color is perfect for fall and you can easily incorporate it into your fall wardrobe if you don't already have tons in that hue as it is! Secondly, gold made a major appearance on the runways, too! If you are feeling bold, try it in a rich velvet, or in more subtle ways with simple sweaters and smaller accents.
I hope you all enjoyed this post! What are you most excited for this fall? Leave me a comment down below telling me the trends you're sure to sport this season!
Oh my goodness, those Slinky sandals take me back!!! I can't believe they are trendy again!
